CCP2000 Proceedings

We invite all attendees of the CCP2000 conference to submit a full length paper for publication in the CCP2000 Proceedings. The Proceedings of the CCP2000 will appear as refereed papers in a special volume of Computer Physics Communications (CPC). CPC is an archival quality journal with no page charges. Copies of the conference Proceedings will be made available to participants at a very reasonable price.

The deadline for manuscript receipt is Friday, December 23, 2000.

How to submit

If possible, please bring with you to the conference two printed copies of your manuscript on either A4 or 8.5-by-11-inch paper, single-sided. You can leave your manuscript on the conference secretariat/registration desk, during your registration.

Alternatively, you can post two printed copies of your manuscript to the CCP2000 Proceedings Principal Editor:

You will be notified by the Editor of the acceptance of your article and invited to supply either an electronic or printed version of the final accepted text. The Publisher welcomes the receipt of an electronic version of your accepted manuscript encoded in LaTeX; please refer to section Electronic manuscripts below for further information about preferred formats.

Manuscript preparation

Contributed manuscripts are limited to four printed journal pages in length, and those of invited speakers to six pages. All manuscripts should be written in good English. The paper copies of the text should be prepared with double line spacing and wide margins, on numbered sheets. For the electronic version of the manuscript, see notes below.

A CPC printed journal page with only typeset text contains about 750 words. For figures and tables, a 1-column figure or table takes about 150 words, and a 2-column figure or table around 350 words. Two column figures or tables consisting of several sub-figures can take up 550-750 words (one page). A 1-line free-standing equation is equivalent to about 30 words. Manuscript text (inclusive figure captions and references) can usually be calculated using the wordcount option in most common textprocessing packages, as a rule one page of double-spaced text fontsize 12 points has about 250 words. As an example, a manuscript with 8 pages of double-spaced text (fontsize 12 points), 4 figures and 2 tables, would generate 4 printed pages.

Cover Letter. Please provide a cover letter and include:

Structure. Please adhere to the following order of the manuscript: Article title, Author(s), Affiliation(s), Abstract, PACS codes and keywords, Main text, Acknowledgements, Appendices, References, Figure captions, and Figures/Tables.

PACS codes/keywords. Please supply one or more relevant PACS-1996 classification codes and 6-8 keywords of your own choice for indexing purposes. PACS codes are available on the Computer Physics Communications web site at http://www.elsevier.nl/inca/publications/store/5/0/5/7/1/0/ .

References. References to other work should be consecutively numbered in the text using square brackets and listed by number in the reference list. Reference examples:
[1] I. Bray and A.T. Stelbovich, Phys. Rev. Lett. 69 (1992) 53-56.
[2] M. Allen and D. Tildesley, Computer Simulation of Liquids (Oxford Science, London, 1990).

Illustrations. The line drawings in the master set of illustrations should be original laser printer or plotter output or drawn in black india ink, with careful lettering, large enough (3-5 mm) to remain legible after reduction for printing. The photographs should be originals, with somewhat more contrast than is required in the printed version. They should be unmounted unless part of a composite figure. Any scale markers should be inserted on the photograph, not drawn below it. Colour plates: Figures may be published in colour, if this is judged essential by the Editor. The Publisher and the author will each bear part of the extra costs involved. Further information is available from the Publisher. Electronic version of the illustrations/figures must be prepared in "eps" or "ps" format.

Electronic manuscripts. You will be notified by the Editor of the acceptance of your article and invited to supply an electronic version of the final accepted text. The Publisher welcomes the receipt of an electronic version of your accepted manuscript encoded in LaTeX, preferably using the Elsevier document style "elsart" or alternatively the standard document style "article" or the document style "revtex". Please note that no deviations from the version accepted by the Editor are permissible without the prior and explicit approval by the Editor. Such changes should be clearly indicated on an accompanying printout of the file.
