The Centre for Organic Photonics and Electronics was officially opened by Professor Paul Greenfield on 18 November 2008.

The ceremony was held on the Podium of the Chemistry building, attended by senior members of UQ's executive, as well as State Government delegates, guest speakers and academic and research staff from several Australian universities.
