Graduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma and MSc Programs

The Master of Science (MSc) by coursework program comprises a suite of programs, the Graduate Certificate in Science (#8 or one semester full-time), the Graduate Diploma in Science ( #16 or two semesters full-time) and the Master of Science (#24 or three semesters full-time). This degree may be taken in the field of Physics.

These programs are full fee-paying.

The Graduate Certificate is #8 and courses are selected from the relevant third and fourth level courses as determined by the Postgraduate Coordinator. The program may include a small research project. This program enables students to add some specialty to their undergraduate degree

The Postgraduate Diploma program is #16. It includes a small postgraduate research project and relevant third and fourth level courses as determined by the Coordinator. Typically, this program is done by students wishing to enter a MPhil or PhD research program without the formal background at IVH level.

The MSc program is #24. It includes either a small or non-major research project and courses selected from the courses available in the Honours program. As the name implies students are then able to enter a MPhil program.

The General Topics in Physics and Special Topics in Physics courses are combinations of topics from honours level (4) courses individually customized to suit the needs of students. Potential offerings can be seen at
