There's a 2nd Semester physics subject which is aimed both at physics students, and students who like physics but don't study it. All you need is a background in highschool mathematics.

Unfortunately, this course wasn't advertised this year, so we thought we'd let you know about it.

It's PHYS1080 - Stars, Galaxies, and the Cosmos, and is a good elective for physics students and anyone else who just likes physics, while also being a good subject for those planning to continue with astrophysics in 2nd and 3rd year. I did the course in first year, and really loved it!

So if you haven't finalised your semester 2 courses yet, or have a spare elective, take a look at this link and have a chat to your academic advisor about PHYS1080.

Or you can find a link to the flyer on the Links page.

We've a few more photographs added to the Treasure Hunt gallery, and the Microwaves one has been added as well, along with our first video. The Treasure hunt ones are just a little late mostly because I've been busy with assignments and partly because I'm lazy. Anyway.

As most of you will know, this is the last week of classes, and so this Friday will be our last error bar for the semester. Check the Next Error Bar page to check out what it will be.

There's a new link on the Links page; A link to a physics equations paper hosted at Berkeley.

In pdf format, 108 pages of equations handy for any physics work you might be doing.

Our first error bar is now behind us, so on to the next one!

A new addition to the site is the Fun & Games page, from which you'll be able to access the (hopefully regular) Worldly Research Articles, and other assorted things.

Hi everyone,

The PAIN mailing list is going to be cleared on the 19th February - the day before Market Day - to make way for a new list for 2008.

So if you want to be on the list this year, either we'll see you on Market Day, or subscribe to to the list from the 20th onwards, beforehand will be deleted.

The design for 2008 is in, proudly using the society colours of orange and black...a question about that, who first picked the colours? Anyway, if you have any comments on the design or thoughts on content for the site, email me here.
