Special Events
Any special events being held by PAIN outside of normal error bars will have pertinant information up on this page, if there's anything you want to find out about or have forgotten.
Astrocamp
The most exciting event of the year is about to happen. Yes, that's right, this year in conjunction with the Brisbane Astronomical Society, PAIN be going on Astrocamp!

On the 19th - 20th September, we will be heading out of town to do some stargazing, chill out, socialise, and maybe have an Error Bar thrown in for good measure. The Brisbane Astronomical Society will be providing their high-tech telescopes for us to have a look at, and will be on hand to tell us about the interesting phenomena we'll be viewing. PAIN has been sponsored by the Australian Institute of Physics for this activity.

This is an event not to be missed! Participants on previous Astrocamps always return wanting to go on another, so make sure that you don't miss out. The cost will be $30 for the weekend, including meals. We'll be leaving on Saturday 19th September, and returning on Sunday 20th. You don't have to be a PAIN member to attend, so invite any friends or family who want to join in.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP to me by email and let me know before 1st September. Please also advise of any special dietary requirements.
Anyone who is willing to drive there (1.5 to 2 hour drive) will be eligible for reimbursement from PAIN. Also let me know how many seats will be available in your car.

This is an event that you'll regret that you missed - Astrocamp really is lots of fun and is well worth it.

Astrocamp Updates
20th August

Hello everyone,

This is just a reminder that PAIN is running Astrocamp on the 19th - 20th September. It only costs you $30 for the weekend (includes meals while you are away, as well as dormitory style accomodation included), and is an excellent opportunity to have a look through some seriously good telescopes.

If you want to attend, please RSVP by reply email to me by 1st September. We are also still looking for people willing to drive there (we'll reimburse you for fuel) and help us transport everyone and all of our supplies. Remember that it doesn't have to be you that drives - we're perfectly happy for you to rope in a friend/relative to drive instead. Same goes for attending - you don't need to be a PAIN member to attend.

Don't miss out if you can help it, or you'll regret it.

Kristen
