Day 3

The next day George and Zoe went to Parliament House for a look around. They went on a guided tour and George thought it was really interesting. Here is George outside Parliament House looking towards Old Parliament House and the War Memorial. Can you see George? He's the little yellow dot down by the grass in the bottom left hand quarter of the photo.

Here is George on top of Parliament House. It is cool having grass on the roof of Parliament House. George is standing on the middle horizontal line. The photo looks out towards the War Memorial building under the mountain in the background.

This is looking slightly to the right of the last photo, and is one of the main streets of Canberra leading directly to State Circle. (George is there, you just have to look for him).

Now we are looking to the left of the other two photos. This is looking down the other main street leading to State Circle and also shows the James Cook Spout/Jet(?) in the middle of the photo (it is the tall white, sort of fuzzy thing).

Now we are looking up the flag pole on top of Parliament House. George tried very hard to be in this photo, but just couldn't quite make it. (BTW, thanks for your help Zoe! ;-) )

Here is George in front of Parliament House. Do you see him? Well, if you see the black and white alternating stripes in the foreground, then you will see him in one of the white stripes just to the left of the middle of the black and white stripes. George thought that Parliament House was awesome. It had some very cool paintings in it and it was even interesting to hear how Australian government is supposed to run.

Now we see George on top of the VW Beetle (part of the art exhibition on at Old Parliament House) in front of Old Parliament House looking towards the War Memorial (it's just under the mountain in the background). Zoe is in the black standing off to the left.

Here is George on the Beetle again, this time from the other direction, looking at Old Parliament House. George thought that Old Parliament House was really cool. There was a museum, and a couple of art galleries, and a cafe, and it took George and Zoe rather a while to get around it all (George's fault). Interesting to see the toilets with the awesome view, and with the green and red lights in the cubicles (the lights are used to call senators or members into the house when needed for a vote). Zoe and George had some yummy cake and coffee in the cafe.

This is a photo of the protest buildings in front of Old Parliament House, supposedly they have been there ever since Old Parliament House has been there.
