George and the "representative scenery shot" 1

George and the "representative scenery shot" 2

After driving for a long way and a long time through the really dense traffic in Penrith (the rowing events for the Olympics were being held in the Penrith area), George eventually started heading towards Dharug National Park, north of Sydney. This is a photo of George entering a small town called Ebenezer. "Boy, Aussies have strange names for places," said George.

This is a photo of the car ferry just north of Ebenezer.

A view of the river and cliffs around it on the car ferry.

Yet another "George and representative area" shot. This is not far north of the car ferry.

George at the same place, but a different angle.

George at the lookout looking down towards what he thought was Wiseman's ferry (you can just see the ferry crossing above George's head). Wiseman's ferry (the place - yes it is a town - and the ferry were on the other side of the mountain. This could also be Brown's mountain, and the last time I mentioned Brown's mountain I could have been wrong.

A view of the surrounding hills on the river at (and on) Wiseman's ferry. This is the start of one of those world famous panorama shots...

and this is the end.

This is the Wiseman ferry (at Wiseman's ferry, funnily enough) heading across the river/creek/slow moving body of water.

Now we are looking upstream.

And now downstream. Note the similarity with the earlier panorama shot.

This is a photo of one of the rock formations and cliff faces on the other side of the river, but it didn't come out as well as it looked at the time. "Oh well..." sighed George.

George cannot remember for the life of him where this is, but he expects that it is another one of those "representative scenery" shots. This is likely to be a place a long way from Wiseman's ferry as there are no cliffs or bush around.

Eventually, George got to a place called Port Macquarie and found somewhere to stay for the night. It had an awesome view.
