My First JMJ Concert!

Theses are photos of my very first Jean Michel Jarre concert. It occurred at the Champ de Mars (Eiffel Tower) in Paris on the 14 July, 1995. Over one million spectators attended the event and I was one of them.

Concert photos from French Minestry for Culture and Marco Blom. Jean Michel Jarre playing his famous "Laser Harp" at the concert. This concert was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen in my life. For those of you that are wondering about how an open air concert of this magnitude sounds, well the several millions of watts of power used and the trailer loads of equipment at the site (30 more semi-trailers than the Rolling Stones) meant that the quality of sound rivalled that which you would get from your home stereo. I'm serious. Even the use of acoustic instruments along side electronic ones did not effect the quality. It was an amazing system all round (and probably an expensive one!).

The day after, I get to meet the man himself.

To see the other Jarre fans I met in Paris, have a look at Maxim's great site over here.
