Welcome

I currently work for ROAM Consulting, a Brisbane based firm which advises to government and industry on Australia’s electricity future. I’m a renewable energy and climate change analyst there, meaning that I work to understand how Australia can meet the challenge of climate change through renewable energy, energy efficiency and “demand side management” (smart equipment in your house that uses less power in peak times).

Prior to this, I ran a science outreach program at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. A key component of this is the Physics Demo Troupe, which takes physics shows and workshops to students around Queensland and beyond, particularly regional schools. They’re still going strong!

This site is, at present, much less a blog as a link to my various activities - I’m particularly proud of my various science song and parodies, of which The Pi Song is the best known - even published in the Brisbane Courier Mail! Do also visit my science-orientated blog Illuminating Science which, while having not been updated for some time, still has (I trust!) some interesting articles.

Finally, I do like to be diverse, with a highlight being a stunt on the Chaser boys - head here for the video!
