Timo's Top Ten Beers

My top ten favourite beers.

Castlemaine Carbine Stout:
A fairly light-bodied stout, not slimy at all, very toasty malt. For me, the best Australian stout, closely followed by Cascade Special Stout. Other Australian stouts you might like are Coopers and the locally brewed Guinness.

Chimay Blue Label:

Coopers Dark Ale:
Coopers are one of the great Australian brewers. Their dark ale is nice, tasty, and is so good, it's even pretty good at room temperature.

Coopers Extra Strong Vintage Ale:
Rich and strong, in the style of strong Belgian beers. A true five-star beer. Tasty, smooth, nice body, and not too heavy.

Delirium Tremens:
A strong Belgian beer. Very smooth and creamy, and exceptional in taste. A right terror to pour well. 9% alcohol.

Erdinger Pikantus:
A strong, dark German wheat beer. This is a confluence of three things I like: German beer, wheat beer, and dark beer. This is one of the best examples of the style. Another (milder) dark wheat beer worthy of trying is Schöfferhofer Dunkles Hefeweizen:.

Grolsch Amber:
A nice, tasty, easy-drinking beer by Grolsch, much better than their regular beer.

(trying to decide which beer by Unibroue belongs here!):

Tsingtao:
A rather sweet pilsner, from China. This is China's biggest single brand-name export; not too surprising, since it's one of the world's great lagers. Was originally developed to supply the German navy and the local German population when the area was run by them as a trading colony/naval base.
