Background

Physics at UQ invites you to attend our information and recruitment day for postgraduate students from Australia and New Zealand.  You will travel to Brisbane on Thursday 20th September 2007 to meet the staff and students within Physics, and to discuss projects with potential supervisors.  The University will provide flights and accomodation up until Sunday 23rd September, and you are encouraged to make the most of your time in Brisbane, Australia's most livable city.

Unfortunately, we cannot extend this offer to other international students due to the eligibility requirements of Australian Postgraduate Awards. However, a few international student scholarships are available to exceptional students, with an application deadline of August 31 each year.  Please write to potential supervisors to discuss options.

APPLICANTS FROM BRISBANE:  Potential postgraduate students from UQ, QUT and Griffith are welcome to participate in the events that we will be holding.  Please contact the Postgraduate Day co-ordinator by email to express your interest:
pgdaycoord@physics.uq.edu.au

The recruitment day is being organised by the School of Physical Sciences, which also incorporates Mathematics and Earth Sciences.  You will also have the opportunity to meet with staff from these disciplines if you wish.

Funding for postgraduate study can be discussed with Physics faculty on the day.  Applicants may also wish to consult the University's information about scholarships for research students, which can be found here.
