Air Data Instruments for Aeroplanes. Your life in their hands.
The lecture will include a brief history of the development of aircraft instruments leading to the concept of an air-data system. The design principles of the aneroid instruments will be outlined and the critical importance of two of those instruments will be illustrated with extracts from the accident record and a garnish of aviation lore.
Alan is an aeronautical engineer of some 38 years standing and was , variously, Wing Commander RAAF, chief engineer Civil Aviation Authority, and airworthiness advisor to the International Civil Aviation Organisation.
