6PM, Tuesday November 2002 Forty Years of Computing at UQ
Wilber Williams, curator of the UQ Computer Museum

Wilber Williams, curator of the UQ Computer Museum is working with others to
restore to working condition some of the early computers used at the
University. At this Tools of Science lecture he will review the history of
computing at UQ since the installation in 1962 of the General Electric
GE-225, which had instruction times measured in milliseconds and a
whopping16K words of memory.
The Physics Museum will be open from 5.30pm.
