Physics Honours Entry Requirements

Entry requirement for Honours


To enroll in Science Honours at the University of Queensland you must a Grade-Point Average (GPA) of 4.5/7 in the Australian system.

Physics Honours

You must have a Bachelor's degree in physics, and   If you complete your degree at the University of Queensland, you are currently required to have completed the following courses:

PHYS3020 -  Statistical mechanics
PHYS3040 - Quantum physics
PHYS3050 - Electromagnetism
PHYS3810 or PHYS3820 - Experimental physics
PHYS3071 - Computational physics
If you have graduated from another university you should have completed similar courses.  If you have queries regarding this, please contact the physics honours coordinator.

Biophysics Honours

There are no additional entry requirements for biophysics honours.

Enrollment procedure


When the results are announced from your final undergraduate semester, fill in the honours application form available here, and get it signed by the physics honours coordinator and your nominated advisor.  Note that you are still required to enroll in courses on my-sinet.
