Einstein's Revolutionary Idea
In 1905 a young worker in the Swiss Patent Office, Albert Einstein, unleashed on the world a series of radical ideas on atoms, light, space, and time. These ideas are now the basis of modern physics. Yet Einstein himself considered only one of these ideas "very revolutionary". 100 years on, we discussed this idea, and 21st century technology based on it. Dr Andrew White introduced his research work here at UQ Physics that uses Einstein's theory. We explored Einstein's idea and its flow-on, in an interactive way, using simple examples, hands-on activities and taking advantage of our modern understanding 100 years on.
