Welcome to the 2008 website for PAIN, the UQ Physics Student Society.

Feel free to take a look around the site via the menu to the left¹, we have plenty of material if you're new or curious about the society, and if you're a returning member, we have information on the Error Bars for this year for something new.

Error Bars will take you to a brief description of what error bars are and where they're held, but if you already know all that, just use the popout submenu to find the subpages so you don't have the annoyance of having to go through all that every time. The same goes for the Apocrypha page.

1: If you got a notification about active content (javascript) and were wondering about it, it's just to make the menu work properly in IE. Any *good* web browser doesn't need it.

Just so you know, the university is sponsoring the titled event as part of the National Science Week. It's held on the night of Wednesday the 20th August and is about stories on science related activities.

27/07/08 - We will be having the physics poetry night this semester, so brush up on your iambic pentameter or haiku skills to compete in this illustrious event. More information will be forthcoming on exactly when this is, but for now treat it like it's coming soon, because it might just be!

To subscribe to the PAIN mailing list, simply email Majordomo@physics.uq.edu.au with the following command, making sure you're sending a plaintext (no formatting tools) message:

subscribe pain
end

To subscribe your sending (current) email address. To subscribe a different address, simply put:

subscribe pain email_address
end

Replacing email_address with your chosen address.

You'll then receive an email asking you to confirm; follow what it says, and you should then be subscribed.

To unsubscribe, simply replace subscribe above with unsubscribe.
