Hans A. Bachor

Position

Hans Bachor is Professor at the Australian National University and the Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Quantum-Atom Optics. An internationally recognised scientist and educator, he leads a research program and teaches courses in quantum optics.

Hans Bachor is a Fellow of the AIP, IOP and AOS . He was a Humboldt prize winner in 1999-2002 and an ARC Federation fellow 2003-2008. In 2009 he was awarded the Australian Institute of Physics Award for Outstanding Services to Physics in Australia.

Research Interests

His research interest is in the foundations of new quantum technologies, the design and testing of devices which are based on quantum concepts such as quantum noise, squeezing and entanglement.These are optical systems and those based on  uttracold atoms and BECs.
